How It Began

A small kitchen,
a burning idea

It started on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Founder Elara Voss, frustrated by synthetic mass-market candles that smelled of marketing more than magic, began experimenting on her kitchen counter with raw soy wax, dried botanicals, and single-origin essential oils sourced from small farms.

What she discovered wasn't just a better candle — it was a ritual. The measured pour, the careful wick-setting, the 48-hour cure. Each step a form of meditation. Each finished piece a vessel of intention.

Today, Aetheris pours from a sunlit studio in the hills, but the ethos is unchanged: every candle is made by hand, in small batches, with obsessive care.

Trained in Grasse, France, Elara brings 14 years of olfactory expertise to every Aetheris blend. She believes scent is the closest thing we have to time travel.

A ceramicist turned creative director, Matteo designs each vessel as a companion to the fragrance — tactile, considered, and made to be kept long.

The process behind every flame

We handpick essential oils from certified organic farms across Provence, the Nilgiri hills, and the Atlas Mountains. Our soy wax is traceable, non-GMO, and sustainably harvested.

Compose

Each fragrance is blended in small batches with layered top, heart, and base notes — tested iteratively until the arc of the scent through the burn feels alive and complete.

Pour

Wax is heated to a precise temperature, fragrance is added at the perfect moment, and each vessel is hand-poured with a centred wick. No automation. No shortcuts.

Cure & Test

Each candle cures for a minimum of 48 hours. We then burn-test every batch — checking scent throw, burn consistency, and wick performance before anything leaves the studio.

Ship

Wrapped in tissue, nestled in recycled kraft, sealed with our wax stamp. Your order is packed as carefully as it was made — a ritual from our hands to yours.
